PreBallet (Ages 4-6)

A 45-minute class with focus on imaginative musical activities to build strength, flexibility, and body awareness; and improve gross motor skills, coordination, and posture.

Special dances & musical activities help develop a child's sense of rhythm and an awareness of the rich language of music. Includes floor work, tumbling and other mat work; and large movements across the floor.

Children also learn to share time, space, and attention with their dance mates. This class is for children with no previous ballet training.

Focus is on strengthening the young body and increasing coordination, fostering creativity, and self-expression, and preparing a foundation for ballet training.

Proper instruction is a building process. Students are grouped by age, experience, and ability.

All students learn at their own pace. Each child should have a feeling of self-confidence from being placed with the proper group.

The number of classes per week will increase as the student becomes more technically proficient.

A syllabus is used to assure steady progress in training. A firm foundation of basic technique must be laid which will be expanded and refined.

The 3rd year of study is not a repetition of the 2nd year. There are specific goals to be met each semester.

Dance discipline has many similarities to academic training. Skills must be built incrementally. You must start at the beginning, attend class faithfully, and work to master the skills as they are introduced. Each skill builds muscle memory and the proper bodily strength to take a student to the next, more difficult dance movement.

Classes are offered at all levels: Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced for children, teens, adults, boys & girls. Private coaching is also available for audition preparation. Day and evening classes available. All classes are taught by experienced and qualified instructors in a nurturing and artistic environment.
